The Inland Waterways Authority of India signed an MoU with Germany-based Rhenus Logistics to deploy 100 cargo vessels across key national waterways, starting with 20 barges and 6 tugs in late 2025.
This public-private partnership aims to boost inland water transport, reduce logistics costs, and enhance connectivity across India and neighbouring countries.
