A 67-year-old Kuala Lumpur woman lost RM2.2 million over nine years in an online romance scam. The scammer, posing as an American businessman, gained her trust through Facebook and manipulated her into sending money 306 times. She never met him in person, communicating only through voice calls. Police warn against sending money to online acquaintances.
