Following the US Supreme Court ruling that termed President Donald Trump’s tariffs imposed under the 1977 !EEPA, fresh US tariffs on imported goods—initially set at 10 per cent—came into effect today.
The new tariff is justified as a means “to deal with the large and serious United States balance-of-payments deficits,” the White House has said.
It will last for 150 days unless extended by US Congress.
