If there’s one designer I can always count on for dreamy spring pieces, it’s kate spade new york. Every time I peruse the site, I’m met with gorgeous bold hues, pretty florals, and joyful prints that define the season. Whether I’m looking for a raincoat (as they say, April showers bring May flowers), a colorful sweater to mix up my neutral knits rotation, or a handbag that looks like an actual bouquet of flowers (yes, really), the brand is ready to bring sunshine to even the rainiest of my spring days.
In anticipation of spring, I’m catching up with content creators Sarah Cuervo and Taylor Quitara to see how they’ll be styling pieces from kate spade new york’s newest collection for their adventures this season. And just as I suspected, their looks are giving me an immediate serotonin boost. Are you ready to see what I mean? Keep scrolling to see what these two have in store for spring and which kate spade new york pieces they’re bringing along for the ride.
“The first step to a proper New York spring day is dressing the part,” says Cuervo. “I need to match the energy of the season, especially with my outfit.” The TikToker is a regular on Roosevelt Island as soon as the Cherry Blossoms begin blooming in all their pink glory. “I find the most iconic view and have a picnic with my besties,” she says. Cuervo started her spring look with the basics: a pretty, white eyelet top and light-wash, wide-leg jeans. But she took things up a notch with this bright crossbody bag. (Lime is a huge color trend this season, FYI.)
What’s better than one green look? Two green looks. “I will never turn down the opportunity to bring my Pinterest boards to life, and this look does just that,” says Cuervo. For a day at the museum (another of Cuervo’s favorite seasonal activities), she styles a matching green cardigan and bag with a pleated miniskirt, loafers, and high socks. “Something about ‘preppy Blair Waldorf meets dark academia school girl’ will always call my name, so you know I will be repeating this look shamelessly,” she tells me.
For Quitara, the perfect spring day starts off with a stop at her favorite cafe and a long walk around the city. “Springtime in New York means rain with a hint of the sunshine to come, and truthfully, this coat has me excited to get caught in the rain.” (Even I, a sunny-day enthusiast, wouldn’t mind a sprinkle if I had this waterproof piece in my closet.) “The beautiful flower details on both the coat and this handbag are perfect for my maximalists who want to shine on a dreary day,” she explains.
Quitara is building a statement-bag collection, so it’s no surprise that she’s sporting this cloud-shaped purse. (Can we take a second for the little pearl details?) “Since the bag makes such a statement, I wanted to stick to a neutral color palette with blue accents and incorporate different textures,” she says. On a gloomy day like this one, “a light-colored maxi skirt can give the illusion of spring while keeping you warm, and you can always wear tights!” I’m already stealing this outfit idea for my next brunch ‘fit—thank you very much.
