Non-BT cotton sowing in India has decreased to 6.121 lakh hectares, representing 5.42 per cent of the total cotton sowing area of 112.757 lakh hectares for the 2024-25 season.
This marks a 7.80 per cent decline from the previous season.
Odisha remains the largest producer of non-BT cotton, while Gujarat and Maharashtra saw significant drops in acreage.
