The opening of letters of credit (LCs) for imports in Bangladesh fell by 13 per cent to reach $10 billion in July-August compared with $11.51 billion in the corresponding period last year, according to the Bangladesh Bank.
LC settlements also saw an 8.29-per cent YoY drop, falling to $10.34 billion in the period.
The fall was attributed to nationwide unrest.
