Portugal’s University of Coimbra’s DyeLoop project aims to make textile dyeing more sustainable by reusing dyes and reducing water and energy consumption.
Funded by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the project will recycle dye bath effluents and explore biotechnological solutions.
Over three years, it seeks to cut textile dyeing costs by over 50 per cent and minimise environmental impact.
