It’s basically a known fact that there is nothing in this world cuter than a newborn babe (except maybe Timothée Chalamet with a moustache. Precious!). Which is why we get so extremely stoked when our fave celebs make a pregnancy announcement. Oh, the possibilities: the cute Insta posts, the matching Halloween costumes to come, the potential to be out-flexed by a literal baby who owns a Chanel purse. But mostly, we’re just super excited to have another reason to celebrate a healthy new bb! Whether it’s the Kardashian-Jenners growing their empire (seriously Kylie, when’s Stormi 2.0 coming?) or one of our faves welcoming their first bundle of joy (looking at you, Chloë), 2020 is already filled with new celeb babies on board.
Vanessa Morgan and Michael Kopech
There’s a new baby coming to Riverdale—on July 25, actor Vanessa Morgan announced that she’s expecting her first child. “Was debating keeping this part of my life hidden but I knew people would see pictures eventually with my belly & I wanted you guys to hear it from me,” she wrote on Instagram, along with a carousel of photos from a gender reveal party. “I do want to keep this chapter of my life private but did want to be the first to share the news. I am overjoyed to be welcoming my baby boy into the world this January.”
Morgan, who plays Toni Topaz on Riverdale, married professional baseball player Michael Kopech in January of this year.
Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty
Leave it to Nicki Minaj to make an internet-breaking pregnancy announcement. On July 20, the rapper took to Instagram to announce the exciting news that she’s pregnant! “#Preggers,” the rapper captioned a photo of herself cradling her belly. “Love. Marriage. Baby carriage. Overflowing with excitement & gratitude. Thank you all for the well wishes,” Minaj captioned another photo of herself lounging on a couch with her belly on display.
This will be the “Anaconda” rappers first child with husband Kenneth Petty.
Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake
Congrats are in order for the Timberlake fam. Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake reportedly welcomed a second child in mid-July after a secret pregnancy. According to a July 18 article by The Daily Mail, the couple welcomed a son. The pair are already parents to five-year-old Silas.
We’ll wait for official confirmation from the famous family, but until then—congrats!
Kristen Wiig and Avi Rothman
Congrats are in order for Saturday Night Live alum Kristen Wiig and her fiancé Avi Rothman! The couple are now parents to twins, having reportedly welcomed them via a surrogate earlier this year. While Wiig and her partner have yet to make a public announcement themselves, the couple was spotted out for a walk with their babies on June 17.
And Wiig may have been hinting at her parenthood status all the way back in May. While hosting the Mother’s Day episode of SNL (from quarantine, of course), the comedian dropped some hints about becoming a mom during her opening monologue, saying: “I don’t know if I truly appreciated my mom the first 45 years of my life. But this year I’m feeling especially grateful for her advice, her love. I’m so thankful for all the things she’s taught me, like preparing me to be a mom myself.”
One thing’s for sure, those babies are going to be growing up in a hilarious household!
Iggy Azalea and Playboi Carti
Iggy Azalea is a new mom. The “Work” rapper announced on June 11 that she has welcomed her first child. Taking to Instagram stories, Azalea (née Amethyst Amelia Kelly) shared the exciting news with her fans, writing: “I have a son. I kept waiting for the right time to say something but it feels like the more time passes the more I realize I’m always going to feel anxious to share news that giant with the world. I want to keep his life private but wanted to make it clear he is not a secret & I love him beyond words.”
Azalea didn’t share anymore info about her little bébé or her baby’s father. The Australian rapper is currently in a relationship with rapper Playboi Carti.
Caster Semenya and Violet Raseboya
Congrats are in order for South African runner Caster Semenya and her wife Violet Raseboya, who have seemingly welcomed a baby! While the Olympian has yet to announce the news in words, she took to social media on June 4 and 5 to drop hints for her fans and followers, first sharing a photo of her feet alongside teeny-tiny Nike shoes and then a baby onesie with the phrase “I Have Arrived” over a Nike symbol.
We can’t wait for the next reveal!
Romee Strijd and Laurens van Leeuwen
On May 28, Dutch model Romee Strijd shared the news that she’s expecting a baby! In an Instagram post, the Victoria’s Secret Angel shared a photo of herself and husband Laurens van Leeuwen cradling her growing bump. “WE’RE HAVING A BABY,” she captioned the photo in part.
And while a new life coming into the world is always exciting, Strijd’s announcement is extra special because, as the model revealed in her post, two years ago she was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). “2 years ago I got diagnosed with PCOS after not getting my period for 7 years,” Strijd wrote. “I was devastated because being a mom and starting a family with @laurensvleeuwen is my biggest dream.. I was so scared that I would never be able to because I got told it was harder to get babies in a natural way.”
Strijd says that after figuring out that her PCOS was related to constant stress on her body, she worked on finding natural ways to help heal the condition, which included less high-intensity training, not restricting foods, being kind to herself, and taking breaks when needed. “I’m so happy and grateful to say that I got my period back last november AND that WE’RE SOON A FAMILY OF THREE.” Strijd ended her post with a message for other women trying to conceive, writing: “& to the women trying to conceive, believe in yourself and be nice for yourself and your body and don’t let those thoughts get to you to much.”
Karla Souza and Marshall Trenkmann
Congrats are in order for How to Get Away with Murder‘s Karla Souza! The Mexican actor announced on May 27 that she’s expecting her second child. Sharing two photos of herself holding her daughter Gianna, with her bump on display, Souza wrote: “Those of you who have already watched module one of #Unleashed already know this, but building this course has also coincided with my pregnancy. Opening up in such a deep way while creating life has been such a gift and I’m honored to continue sharing, growing, and UNLEASHING with you all over the course of the next four weeks.” Unleashed is an online course created by Souza that showcases her motivational speaking platform.
Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix
Another pandemic pregnancy for the books! According to multiple sources via Page Six, actors Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix are expecting their first child. The couple—who originally met on-set of the 2013 film Her but began dating in 2018—have been engaged since July 2019. Talking to Vanity Fair in October 2019 about his fiancée, Phoenix said of Mara: “She’s the only girl I ever looked up on the internet. We were just friends, email friends. I’d never done that. Never looked up a girl online.”
The couple haven’t confirmed the news themselves, so we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for some *visual* confirmation (a.k.a. pics of the couple on a quarantine walk à la Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas).
Ashlee Simpson Ross and Evan Ross
Congrats are in order for the Ross family! Ashlee Simpson Ross and her husband Evan Ross announced that they’re expecting another child together. “We are pregnant and we are excited to share it with everyone. Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik
It looks like Zayn Malik is heading in a new direction—fatherhood! The singer is expecting a baby with on-again, off-again GF, Gigi Hadid and we are 100% screaming with excitement. On April 28, TMZ reported that the famous model—who just celebrated her 25th birthday in quarantine with Malik—is 20 weeks along. Also reported? That her recent birthday celebrations were also a low-key gender reveal party! After much speculation (and some suspicious Insta posts from Hadid), Hadid confirmed the news on an April 30 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon; which means we can offish start calling Malik #Zaddy.
Anderson Cooper
Congrats are in order for journalist Anderson Cooper. The correspondent revealed on April 30 that he’s now a dad, announcing the birth of his son Wyatt Cooper both on-air on CNN and on social media. “I want to share with you some joyful news,” Cooper wrote on Instagram, alongside a carousel of photos of himself and his son. “On Monday, I became a father. This is Wyatt Cooper. He is three days old.” Cooper revealed that his new addition is named after the journalist’s own father, who passed away when he was 10 years old.
Anderson revealed that Wyatt was born via surrogate, writing: “As a gay kid, I never thought it would be possible to have a child, and I’m grateful for all those who have paved the way, and for the doctors and nurses and everyone involved in my son’s birth. Most of all, I am grateful to a remarkable surrogate who carried Wyatt, and watched over him lovingly, and tenderly, and gave birth to him.”
Congrats to the new dad and welcome baby Wyatt!

Later, he added: “This is the official announcement, we’re pregnant.”
Shortly after his announcement, Carter shared a selfie of himself to Instagram, captioning the photo: “Dad bod.”

I wanted to share this with you. Here we go again.”

On March 4, Perry revealed that she and the actor are expecting in a pretty cool way—by revealing her bump in the new music video for her latest single “Never Worn White.” The video, which is gorgeous, shows Perry cradling her bump in an ethereal white dress as she sings about getting a relationship right. This will be Perry’s first child and the second for Bloom, who shares nine-year-old son Flynn with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
Melissa Benoist and Chris Wood
Supergirl star Melissa Benoist has a little superbaby on the way. The former Glee actor took to Instagram to announce the news, posting a pic of herself and hubby of six months Chris Wood holding a little shirt. “”A non-canine child is coming to our family very soon!!!” she wrote. “@christophrwood has always been an old dad by nature but now he’s going to be a real one!”
Anyone else notice the blue clothing theme in this pic? Considering gender reveal parties have been going way too far, we’re thinking this is a more level-headed way to say the baby will be a boy.
Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner
Babies having babies!! According to multiple sources (and Just Jared), newlyweds Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are expecting a new Jonas baby! Per the website, one source said of recent pregnancy rumours: “The couple is keeping things very hush hush but their friends and family are super excited for them.” The couple tied the knot at a May 2019 wedding in Las Vegas. In the words of the mama-to-be herself: “And that’s the tea.”

They’re due a week and a half apart! “Wait, twins being pregnant at the same time?” Brie, who is married to pro wrestler Daniel Bryan and shares a two-year-old daughter with him, told the mag. “People are going to think that’s a joke. We both are shocked. People are going to think we planned it, but you can’t really plan pregnancy!”
Nikki, who is engaged to her Dancing with the Stars partner Artem Chigvintsev, revealed that her pregnancy was a complete surprise. “It took even me a good week to come to terms with like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m pregnant.’ I’m not ready for it,” she said.
Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita
A Modern Family baby! On January 22, actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson shared the news that he and his husband are expecting their first child together. Making the joyful announcement while appearing on The Late, Late Show with James Corden, Ferguson—talking about finally reaching adulthood in your forties alongside fellow guest Charlie Hunnam—said: “Actually, this is something I haven’t even mentioned to anyone, if we could just keep it between the three of us and you all, but I’m actually expecting a baby in July with my husband.”
Corden—and the crowd–were obviously thrilled. While Ferguson didn’t reveal any further details, he did confirm that the couple are having a “human.”
Ferguson and Mikita have been married since July 2013.
We can’t wait for July!
Grimes
Singer Grimes has always marched to the beat of her own drum, so should we really be surprised that her pregnancy announcement was a little offbeat…or just straight up confusing? On January 7, the Canadian singer posted a nude image of herself to Instagram with the shadow of a fetus projected onto her belly.
Grime’s first post, which showed her nipples, was taken down by Instagram but in the now-deleted caption, the musician wrote: “I thought about censoring them for a hot minute haha (this may get taken down anyway) but the photo is so much less feral without the nipples. Plus being knocked up is a very feral & war-like state of being. Might as well be what it is. Plus most of my friends told me not to post them so then I was afflicted w reverse psychology. Interrogated my shame and decided it was sum weird internalized self hated to feel uncomfortable about my body. Hope ur having a nice day!”
