KazMunayGas has awarded a steam cracker development project to a joint venture between Sinopec and Técnicas Reunidas.
The €2.3 billion (~$2.553 billion) project will be completed by 2028 in Kazakhstan’s Atirau province.
The cracker will produce 1,300 kilotonnes of ethylene annually, using local gas fields.
Lummus Technologies will provide the technology for the project.
