As a born-and-bred California girl, I’ve lived my entire life with the ocean at my fingertips. The beach has long been my go-to for early-morning runs, sunset picnics, and long playful days with friends. With all that beach time comes the need for a versatile wardrobe—one that can stand endless sun, sand, and waves. I want to look cute when I walk up to my friends, protect my face from the sun while tanning my body, and feel cozy and comfortable as I pack up after a long day spent jumping between the sand and surf. That means lots of sundresses, a selection of hats and sandals, soft sweatshirts, and, of course, an endless supply of swimwear. As I ramp up for this summer, I’m turning to Anthropologie’s bright and patterned options for vibrant moods and natural hues for calmer days. Keep reading for some of my favorite summer looks from the brand.

It may be the summer of tangerine and bubblegum pink, but take it from me that no beach wardrobe is complete without a solid outfit composed of sandy tones, especially when the pieces have beautiful details like this dress’s woven knit and delicate eyelets.

This effortlessly breezy dress would make the perfect coverup. Style with a pair of on-trend puffy sandals and a knit cardigan for when the sun goes down.

Where better to embrace a high slit, or two, than the beach? I can’t imagine what else I’d like to pull over my swimsuit after a long day in the sun.

Button-downs aren’t exclusive to blazers and jeans. Wear your classic white button-down open over your bikini with a pair of loose joggers for a laidback-but-stylish look.

This tube-top dress takes me right back to the early ’00s, which happens to be fashion’s choice era of inspiration at the moment. Since I’ve also been seeing beaded jewelry on the arms of every fashion person I follow, I’d call this outfit a perfect 10.

Mixing prints has become one of my favorite styling choices, especially in the summer when there’s an endless array of florals, patterns, and bright colors to choose from. After all, the beach is where you go to play around.

Tie-dye was the darling of 2020, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to rest just yet. What better way to utilize the style than in an oversize sweatshirt like this one?

As I mentioned earlier, bubblegum pink is one of the color trends of summer 2021. Take a riff on the trend with an eyecatching pattern in various shades of pink.
