Very few things excite me like a superb basic, which is why spotting photos of Sofia Richie in a maxi-length T-shirt dress on my feed last night was as effective at waking me up as the espresso I sipped on two hours earlier. Finding out that the dress—a simple, white number by The Row that she paired with a cognac-colored Celine belt, a sold-out The Row tote, and Saint Laurent sunglasses—has been in her rotation for months only added to the thrill of it all. That’s right—the newly married It girl wore the same dress back in 2021 in photos alongside then boyfriend (not even fiancée) Elliot Grainge.

Taken two years apart, the photos show the versatility and longevity of a T-shirt dress like this one that you can belt or wear on its own, not to mention wear hundreds of different ways that make it—a blank canvas—look entirely new. There’s only one problem: Not everyone (myself included) can afford to spend almost $900 on a dress, even one as timeless as Richie’s. Fortunately, I was able to find a $69 alternative at Nordstrom that will more than get the job done. It’s really no big deal, but you can thank me by scrolling down and seeing the dare I say *perfect* T-shirt dress I’m buying to get Richie’s low-key cool look this summer.

If you want to skip the open-back detail on the Treasure & Bond dress, this Another Tomorrow dress is an equally great choice.

Though Richie’s dress is sold out everywhere, this similar style is very much available.

You can’t beat this price.

SKIMS dresses are the softest of any I’ve ever tried on.

This black alternative is so classic and chic.

If it’s green, I want it. Period.

I love this more fitted option from Gap. And as a bonus, it comes in two more colors.

The V neckline and muscle sleeves on this Frame dress feel so fresh for the T-shirt dress genre.

A lavish take on the basic tee dress.

Love a mini.

This one’s so understated and pretty.

Yes, yes, 1000% yes.
