If I were to write a short list of clothing items that scare me, somewhere after super-tight dresses and maybe before uncomfortable shoes and white jeans, you’d find white bathing suits. I don’t particularly love wearing bathing suits in the first place (but buy them anyway), so if you take a category that already makes me uncomfortable and choose a white (aka nowhere-to-hide) iteration, I’m downright petrified. It’s kind of how my former co-worker Aemilia feels about another popular swim trend.

Nonetheless, you can imagine my confusion when I suddenly noticed how many of my favorites suits were actually white. Maybe seeing so many of them (after all, they are having a moment) was like a form of exposure therapy, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t end up ordering a couple while researching for stories.

Will I end up channeling my inner Sofia Richie this summer? Only time will tell, but for now, you can shop all the nicest white bikinis and one-pieces I have my eyes on below, and see how some of my other favorite stylish women are pulling them off along the way.

This could definitely double as a top.

If you want to get Sofia’s exact look, this suit is the place to start.

A classic cut you’ll never get sick of.

Each detail on this suit is better than the last.

A little shine never hurts.

Textured fabric turns a basic silhouette into a standout suit.

Asymmetry always makes a bikini or one-piece more interesting.

Topshop never fails us for affordable finds.

For minimal tan lines and maximum compliments.

Belts make everything better.

Vintage vibes made modern.

I think I need a floral bucket hat now, too.

This new brand is all over our feeds.

For an even trendier take, try a suit from LPA.

This suit has a subtle, tonal print that makes it more interesting than a basic solid.

This brand makes some of my favorite, easy swimsuits.

I’m taking styling notes from this one.

H&M does it again.
