As the sun-soaked days of summer in Europe come to a close, fashion people who were lucky enough to travel are buzzing about all the fun times they had abroad. These jet-setters have returned, bringing with them a wealth of style inspiration from their weekends spent relaxing next to the Mediterranean Sea. And with fall on the horizon, their travels are inspiring a lot of very good shopping.

This season was the biggest year ever for “European Summer” and it seems like everyone in the fashion industry found a way to spend at least a week or two overseas. I’m personally starting to feel like summer is not complete without a pitstop in Europe to explore the inspiring art, architecture, food, and lifestyle. Since it seems like the best-dressed people found their way to Europe this summer, I had a feeling that they might have something to say about fall fashion. From the cobblestone streets of Paris to the undiscovered beaches they decided to gatekeep from their Instagram stories, I’ve recruited the fashion insiders who have seen it all to share with me the items they think are actually worth bringing into fall.

“After coming back from Europe, I’m all about letting an accessory speak for the moment. Jewelry has been my thing, I’m especially loving artisanal and handmade pieces, beaded bracelets, silver rings and bracelets, leather accessories something that’s unique and meaningful and that not everyone else has. Jewelry is always such a personal thing, it’s so special to find a piece you connect with and can wear all the time.”

“This Blumarine pocket bag caught my eye at Voo Store, one of Berlin’s best multibrand boutiques, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. I love the pop of red and seemingly infinite pockets—she might just have to be my investment purchase for this coming fall and winter.”

“I just bought these Miu Miu buckle slingbacks that I think will be the hottest shoe for fall. They’re practical thanks to the modest kitten heel, but the buckles give it that perfect touch of cool. We can always rely on Miuccia to give us a classic with a twist.”

“After hearing some fashion friends say it was the place to travel to this summer, I visited Bodrum, Turkey for the first time. Set on the Aegean Turquoise Coast, my suitcase was packed with printed sarongs, leather slides, and swimsuits primed for days by the beach. As summer is winding down, I’m thinking more about transitional looks for fall. Since my trip, I made a move from Los Angeles to New York, so I’ve been figuring out what is missing in my fall NYC wardrobe. At the top of my shopping list? Flats. I’ve never been a big flats person before, but all of the new arrivals on the market—from polished slingbacks to updated takes on ballerinas—have me excited to wear them. My new commuter life is somehow coinciding with the big flat takeover hitting the fashion scene and I couldn’t be more thrilled about the timing.”

I got a head start on my European summer, spending the later days of spring abroad. My time was centered in Paris but I enjoyed making stops throughout my trip to London and Spain while I was there. One thing I noticed amongst Europeans, was timelessness and that’s definitely inspired my shopping ever since. Like the other people that I tapped for this article, my money is going straight into the accessories department. I’ve started to notice my eyewear collection feels stale and just a bit too trendy. This fall, I’m looking into purchasing a pair of sunglasses that feel absolutely timeless.

I’m curently loving all things striped.

These will sell out very, very fast.

If you’re on a budget the easiest thing you can do is upgrade your jewelry collection.
