UK consumer price index (CPI) rose by 2.2 per cent in the 12 months to August this year, unchanged from July, official data show.
On a monthly basis, CPI rose by 0.3 per cent in August, the same rate as in August 2023.
The CPI for clothing and footwear rose by 1.6 per cent in the 12 months to August; on a monthly basis, it rose by 1 per cent MoM in August.
