Payrolled employees in the UK fell by an estimated 35,000, or 0.1 per cent, between July and August this year, but rose by 165,000, or 0.5 per cent, YoY in August, according to the Office of National Statistics.
The employment rate for people aged 16 to 64 in the country was an estimated 75 per cent in June-August 2024.
The unemployment rate was estimated at 4 per cent in that quarter.
