UK retail sales volumes up estimated 1% in Aug after 0.7% rise in Jul

UK retail sales volumes are estimated to have risen by 1 per cent in August following a rise of 0.7 per cent in July, official data show.
Some supermarkets and clothing retailers reported a boost because of warmer weather and end-of-season sales.
Non-food stores sales volumes rose by 0.6 per cent in August, with clothing stores having the largest impact.
