UK textile, clothing and footwear sales rose 0.1 per cent in January 2026 but fell 0.7 per cent over three months, while online apparel spending declined both monthly and quarterly.
Overall retail volumes grew 1.8 per cent in January, the strongest rise since May 2024, with annual sales up 4.5 per cent, though volumes remain flat compared with pre-pandemic levels.
