The United States has granted India a temporary 30-day waiver allowing the purchase of Russian crude oil already stranded at sea, in a move aimed at preventing disruptions in global energy supplies and stabilising oil markets.
The short-term measure comes amid rising geopolitical tensions in West Asia and growing concerns over shipments passing through the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
