The US consumer price index for all urban consumers (CPI-U) increased by 0.4 per cent month on month (MoM) on a seasonally-adjusted basis in August after rising by 0.2 per cent MoM in July, official statistics show.
The index for energy rose by 0.7 per cent MoM after falling 1.1 per cent MoM in July.
The index for apparel increased by 0.5 per cent MoM in August.
