US container imports totalled 2,306,687 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in October, down by 0.1 per cent month on month (MoM) and 7.5 per cent YoY, and below the 2.4-2.6 million TEU range that typically marks peak trade activity.
China-origin import volumes edged higher in the month.
MoM imports from top countries of origin edged higher as well.
Port transit delays rose slightly in the month.
