US President Joe Biden has decided not to implement a tariff rate quota on fine-denier polyester staple fibre (PSF) imports, following a section 201 safeguard case by US fibre producers.
Instead, a quota will apply only to PSF imports under the temporary importation under bond (TIB) programme, primarily affecting woven textiles and apparel.
