US retail trade sales were up by 1.1 per cent month on month (MoM) and by 2.6 per cent YoY in July, the Census Bureau said.
That compared with a drop of 0.2 per cent MoM and a rise of 2 per cent YoY in June.
The data shows consumers continued to increase their spending in July even as economic growth is moderating, NRF chief economist Jack Kleinhenz said.
