US textile and apparel imports rose by 4.31 per cent to $51.44 billion in January–June, with apparel imports up 6.76 per cent.
Non-apparel imports declined by 2.13 per cent.
China remained the top supplier despite falling shipments, while imports from Bangladesh, Cambodia, Vietnam and India surged.
Tariffs imposed since April are affecting overall growth, which has slowed compared to previous periods.
