The National Retail Federation (NRF) projects US winter holiday spending to grow by 2.5 to 3.5 per cent in 2024, reaching between $979.5 billion and $989 billion.
Online and non-store sales are expected to rise by 8 to 9 per cent, totalling up to $297.9 billion.
Retailers plan to hire 400,000 to 500,000 seasonal workers to meet increased demand.
