Uzbekistan is now processing all cotton fibre it produces and has also started importing raw cotton to come out with finished products with high added value, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev told a recent conference.
Earlier, raw material accounted for about 70 per cent of the sector’s exports, but 60 per cent of exported goods now are finished products, he said.
