A new study reveals that walking at a speed of 4 km/hour or more can significantly lower the risk of type 2 diabetes. The faster the speed, the lower the risk, with a 9% reduction for every 1 km increase. This is because walking at a brisk pace helps regulate blood glucose levels and reduces insulin resistance. The study by researchers from the UK and Iran has found that the faster the speed above 4 km/hour, the lower the risk seems to be, with every 1 km increase in speed associated with a 9% reduction in risk.
