Shopping inspiration, anyone? Well, nobody asked, but we’re certainly delivering anyways. With a dizzying number of new summer pieces hitting the market, it can be downright intimidating to peruse what’s out there in the hopes of making a little wardrobe update. But that’s where we come in, friends. On a typical day, we’re doing some online browsing to highlight the very best shopping picks of the moment, but today, we’re taking it a step further by showing you what we’re personally adding to our closets and including some inspirational outfit photos .
No doubt, our editors are a stylish bunch—I personally look to their Instagrams for my own style ideas—so when I tell you these new tops, dresses, sunglasses, jewelry items, and shoes are “it,” I think you’ll agree. From the under-$100 Nordstrom sandals I might have to copy from Nicole to the rising jewelry brand Bobby just put on my radar, keep scrolling for our new fashion favorites.
“This is the perfect white dress in my book. Breezy. Interesting details. And it’s made by a company with slow fashion values.”
“This bag has become my go-to summer purse. The size is perfect to stash a book, water bottle, and all your essentials. Plus, the little leather pouch it comes with is super soft and high-quality feeling.”
“We all know how easy it is to style a striped shirt, so naturally this top has made a seamless integration into my wardrobe. I think I wore it three times in the last week. That’s why it’s a little rumpled here! There’s something about the unexpected green that feels like a fashion-forward twist on a classic staple. I think I’ve already influenced one editor to purchase the shirt too, and that was after only seeing it over Zoom from the bust up!”
How I’m getting in on the halterneck trend right now. This white linen top is the perfect little summer top and I love how many ways there are to style the straps—it’s like getting five different tops in one.
These feel so special it astonishes me that they’re under $100. Make it make sense.
Obsessed would be an understatement. I can attest that Lexxola’s It-girl favorite transparent shades are even better IRL.
I think at this point, 80% of my gold jewelry is from Missoma and my source for high-quality never-take-them-off pieces has done it again with this stunning string of pearls.
How good are these sleek western-inspired boots?. Cowboy boots are having a moment right now (when are they not, really) and I love how this pair from small Spanish brand mint&rose is a modern take. The mid-calf height pairs well with airy mini dresses, a combo you’ll definitely find me repeating.
What can I say? With Jéan just keeps getting better and better. This fun corset is from their latest drop and when I tell you it’s a total dream to wear, I mean it. It’s so comfortable and the fit is superb. My new going-out top, sorted.
“I’ve been living in both these Who What Wear sandals and this blue Zara shirt over the last couple of weeks. I’ve accidentally created a uniform out of styling them with a revolving door of basic tops and jeans and it makes getting dressed really easy.”
“I picked up this pearl necklace by Sarah Troy Designs at a boutique in Madison, WI called August. I love how it elevates basically anything I’m wearing. I’m also very into oversize sunglasses right now, like this chic pair by Alexander McQueen.”
“I basically live in simple T-shirts all summer long. The offering from Mott & Bow is great. The tees are so soft with an awesome fit.”
“This dress makes me want to do things. Like I’m this close to send it on a flight on to Cabo or ball out on a fancy dinner somewhere. I might even make my friend do a photoshoot with me in it because it deserves a full-on moment.”
“I honestly am loving all the shoe styles that have been trending this year, but flatform sandals are probably my favorites. I’ve been wearing them with baggy jeans and crop tops non-stop.”
“When I say these are the comfiest jeans I’ve ever put on, I mean it. The fit, the length, the color—I’m obsessed.”
“These pearl drops are my new favorite everyday earrings. They’re fairly small and lightweight but what I love about pearls is that they really pop no matter what size they are. Trust me, these are worth every penny.”
“Given that we share a name, I knew I needed these sunglasses even before I tried them on. I’ve been wearing them constantly since they arrived.”
“I really needed a new pair of low black heels and these caught my eye immediately. I can confirm that Reformation shoes are as comfortable as they look.”
“I’ve been obsessed with House Of Sunny’s quirky pieces for quite a while, so when their Good Vibrations, midi-length knit dress came out, I knew I had to buy it. I love this dress because it can be styled up or down, with a leather coat in the fall or just with some flip flops in the summer.”
“While I’ve had my BOYY bag for a few months now, I’m still not over how much I love this little bag! It’s the perfect bag to throw your subway card in and re-emerge into the world with.”
“I’m a sucker for a summer-ready dress, but this sustainably made, maxi-tiered print dress from Loti takes my obsession to a whole another level. I love that this dress uses deadstock fabric, so every dress is not unique but good for the planet. And because it’s so cozy, I can throw it on and look and feel good without really trying.”
“Leave it to Zara to have the perfect flat thonged sandal of my dreams. I have not been able to take these off—they’re so comfortable and go with everything.”
“I’ll admit I’ve gone a bit overboard when it comes to shopping for new shoes, but I’m so excited to wear them again! I love these kitten heel Franco Sarto sandals; they’re the perfect shoe to pair with a little white dress for brunch with friends.”
“For those date-night dinners, I always love to pack a cardigan should I get cold—and this stunning cotton cardigan from Alp N Rock has been my go-to for the past month. I love the shell buttons and scalloped edges; they make this staple wardrobe piece not so basic.”
“I love when a dress mimics art, and that’s defiantly the case with this made-to-order sustainable dress from Bastet Noir. I love every aspect of how this dress is designed—from the adaptable bow straps, the semi-sweetheart neckline to the wrap-around skirt; it’s the dreamiest dress I’ve ever owned.”
“I am constantly adding to my wish list of items from Stone and Strand, so I was elated when my boyfriend surprised me with these new earrings for my birthday. I may have to get another piercing just so I can wear more of the brand’s beautiful designs!”
“I’m very particular about fabrics—I detest anything that’s not breathable—so I was thrilled to discover MagicLinen. Handcrafted in Lithuania, this sustainable linen fabric is my go-to for summer. I got this Meghan Markle-approved dress in black for myself and in white for my mom (she’s a fan, too). Plus, I have my eye on their linen duvet cover sets for a much-needed bedroom makeover.”
