Australia’s CPI rose 1.3 per cent in the September 2025 quarter and 3.2 per cent annually, the highest since June 2024, according to the ABS. Housing, recreation, and transport drove the increase, with electricity costs up 9 per cent.
Annual inflation was lifted by a 23.6 per cent surge in electricity prices after state rebates ended.
Trimmed mean inflation rose to 3 per cent.
