BASF has announced a price increase of €350 (~$409) per metric tonne for neopentyl glycol in Europe, effective immediately or as existing contracts allow.
The company cited market conditions and cost pressures.
Neopentyl glycol is widely used as an intermediate in producing polyester resins for coatings, as well as in lubricants, plasticisers and other industrial applications.
