In August 2025, 401,000 people were unemployed in the Netherlands (3.9 per cent), up from 3.8 per cent in July, mainly due to more people entering the job market without finding work.
Youth unemployment was 8.6 per cent, while unemployment among those 45+ rose to 2.5 per cent.
UWV recorded 187,400 unemployment benefits.
