The European Council has approved an updated NDC for submission to the UNFCCC ahead of COP30, reaffirming a 55 per cent GHG reduction by 2030 and introducing a 66.25–72.5 per cent target by 2035 toward carbon neutrality by 2050.
The plan highlights progress in renewables, fossil fuel phaseout, and global climate commitments, reinforcing the EU’s leadership in advancing the Paris Agreement goals.
