Following a year-long probe, French authorities yesterday announced a $47.11-million penalty on e-commerce firm Shein, saying it used “deceptive commercial practices toward consumers regarding (…) price reductions”.
The Directorate General for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control competition office said the probe found the firm raised certain prices before lowering them.
