Ghana has unveiled a draft policy to transform its textile industry into a $2-billion economic engine by 2033.
The plan targets $1.2 billion in investments, 150,000 jobs and cotton farming revival across 50,000 hectares to tackle cheap imports hitting domestic manufacturers.
The sector has struggled for decades under rising production costs, raw material scarcity and competition from Asian manufacturers.
