Following the US imposition of a 50 per cent tariff, India has extended the export obligation period for Advance Authorisation holders, EOUs, and SEZs from six to 18 months.
The DGFT notification eases rules for products under mandatory QCOs, allowing imports of cheaper raw materials, mainly polyester yarn, without compliance.
The move is expected to boost raw material supply.
