At the opening of a BRICS meeting in New Delhi yesterday, India flagged grave concerns over the Middle East crisis and its impact on energy supplies and maritime stability in the Strait of Hormuz.
It requested BRICS nations to develop ‘practical ways’ to navigate geopolitical upheavals and ‘unilateral coercive’ sanctions.
India said it is ready to contribute constructively towards de-escalation efforts.
