A new study places India’s logistics cost at 7.97 per cent of GDP and 9.09 per cent of non-services output for 2023 and 2024.
In absolute terms, the total cost is estimated at $268.31 billion.
Until recently, India’s logistics costs were often overestimated, with figures of 13 to 14 per cent of GDP being based on partial or external data.
This led to confusion in policymaking and misperceptions globally.
