India’s unemployment rate for persons aged 15 and above fell for the second month in a row in August to 5.1 per cent from 5.6 per cent in June and 5.2 per cent in July, official statistics show.
The labour force participation rate rose from 54.2 per cent in June to 55 per cent in August.
The worker population ratio rose to 52.2 per cent in August from 52 per cent in July 2025 and 51.2 per cent in June.
