Power consumption in India increased by close to 7 per cent YoY to 138.39 billion units (BU) in December last year.
The peak power demand met, or the highest supply, also rose to 241.20 GW in December from 224.23 GW recorded in December 2024, according to government data.
The government estimated the peak power demand to touch 277 GW in summer 2025.
