Scottish scientists and designer Katie Tubbing have created bacteria-dyed fabrics that fade under radiation and UV light, revealing exposure levels visually.
The colour-changing, battery-free material will be tested in space on a PocketQube satellite and could one day be used for astronaut clothing, medical wear, or everyday fashion to monitor harmful radiation and sunlight exposure.
