The UK CPI rose by 2.8 per cent in the 12 months to April, down from 3.3 per cent in the 12 months to March.
On a monthly basis, CPI rose by 0.7 per cent in April compared with a month-on-month rise of 1.2 per cent in April 2025.
Clothing and footwear prices rose by 0.7 per cent in the year to April compared with a fall of 0.8 per cent in the year to March.
