The US consumer price index for all urban consumers (CPI-U) increased by 0.2 per cent in August this year on a seasonally adjusted basis—the same increase as in July, the Bureau of Labour Statistics (BLS) said.
The CPI-U for apparel rose in August by 0.3 per cent from a fall of 0.4 per cent in July.
The index for household furnishings dropped over the month.
