US saw a 9.29 per cent rise in the volume of textile and apparel imports during January–April, reaching 32.87 billion SME, driven by higher volumes of cotton and man-made fibre products.
Apparel imports rose 9.75 per cent, while textile (non-apparel) imports increased 9.13 per cent.
Exports grew marginally by 1.79 per cent to 719.26 million kg.
In 2024, total import volume had risen over 15 per cent.
