The US Customs and Border Protection has issued a public notice imposing additional 25-per cent tariffs on imports from India beginning 12:01 am (EST) on August 27.
The tariffs will apply to any Indian goods that arrive for use or are taken out of warehouses after the deadline.
Directing US agencies to respond to ‘threats’ from Russia, the notice said India is being targeted as part of that policy.
