USTR recently initiated probes into 60 economies, including India, under the Trade Act of 1974 to determine whether their acts, policies and practices related to the failure to impose and effectively enforce a ban on import of goods produced with forced labour are unreasonable or discriminatory and burden or restrict US commerce.
USTR has requested consultations with the governments of these economies.
