Bangladesh Textile Mills Association has threatened to close all member factories from February 1 if 10-per cent incentives are not implemented.
It has also urged the government to give $1 billion annually for the industry’s survival.
Fifty mills have been shut; other units are operating at 50-per cent capacity.
Rising operational costs and a sudden spike in taxes have pushed mill owners to the brink.
