Brazil’s cotton prices fell 5.5 per cent in August, with the CEPEA/ESALQ Index closing at BRL 3.9068 (~$0.71) per pound, as harvesting reached 60 per cent and growers turned to term contracts.
CONAB pegs 2024-25 output at 3.94 million tons, up 6.3 per cent year-on-year.
Exports slumped to 58,350 tons, while export prices at $0.7220/lb stayed below domestic rates for the fifth consecutive month.
