India has launched Mission Senehjori to transform Assam’s Muga silk sector into a globally recognised luxury textile ecosystem.
Backed by ₹396-411 crore ($46.6 million–$48.4 million) investment, the initiative focuses on cluster-based development, GI authentication, exports, tourism and higher incomes for silk rearers and weavers across Assam.
