Joining the EU has significantly raised Poland’s prosperity, as a new study by the Polish Economic Institute.
It estimated that the country had gained 42 per cent of its GDP through EU membership by 2024 compared to the counterfactual scenario.
Without EU accession, Poland’s real GDP would now be 30 per cent lower.
Gains from accession stem largely from the benefits of joining the EU common market.
