President Donald Trump has imposed a new 25-per cent tariff on countries engaged in trade with Iran.
The decision may severely hit India, with tariffs on US imports from there rising to 75 per cent.
“Effective immediately, any Country doing business with the Islamic Republic of Iran will pay a Tariff of 25 per cent on any and all business being done with the United States of America,” he announced.
