US Republican Senator from South Carolina Lindsey Graham recently introduced the Coast Guard Personnel Equipment Act, which would require all US Coast Guard uniforms to be produced in the US.
Under current law, all branches of the US Armed Forces—except the US Coast Guard—are barred from purchasing clothes, fabrics, fibres, yarns and other materials that are produced overseas.
